Where we stay.
Cabins on Clear Creek, historic downtown lofts, and ranch houses at the foot of the Bighorns — the one region on this site we actually operate in.
44.7977° N, 106.9567° W · Sheridan, WY
This is the one region on this site where “where should I stay” has a direct answer, because it’s the one region where Wyo Stays is the host, not just the guide.
The Bighorns sit at the northern end of the Bighorn National Forest — Sheridan, Big Horn, Story, Dayton, Ranchester, and Buffalo, all within a half-hour of the mountain front. It’s cabins on Clear Creek, historic downtown lofts a block off Main Street, and ranch houses with a view of the range from the porch. Fewer crowds than Jackson, a fraction of the price, and a genuinely working Western town underneath the tourism.
What it's good for
- Hunting season — Bighorn National Forest borders some of the best elk country in the state
- The Sheridan WYO Rodeo and Big Horn Polo season
- A Yellowstone base that doesn’t cost Jackson money
- A week where the loudest thing outside is Clear Creek
What it's not good for: nightlife past 9pm downtown, or a beach.
Every property we manage here is inspected against The Wyo Stays Standard and bookable direct with no platform service fee.
